First, awesome application.  This is so badly needed by anyone using the CMD prompt.  Thanks.

I have four questions I need to answer before I buy.

1)  Is there an option to start the app with a path as an argument?  I do a lot of "Command Prompt From Here" type actions (using Shell Toys).  I can configure that to invoke PromptPal, but I need to know if it can take a path to load in a tab as an argument.  I cannot make it work manually.

2)  Is there a way to make the app the default command line interface.  i.e. it is invoked whenever the command prompt is needed?

3)  Can you make the interface more console-y like making right-click act as a copy/paste command (like it does on the cmannda prompt and any other terminal client).

4)  There was a post I saw asking to bind Ctrl+C to abort.  Was that ever implemented?

Thanks in advance for any answers!

Hi Mystik - thanks for your interest in PromptPal!

To answer your questions:

1) Anything on PromptPal's command line is assumed to be a command. So if you want to open up at a particular directory, you need to specify an approriate command,

e.g. promptpal.exe cd /D "c:\mypath"

2) There's no inbuilt way to do this. It's up to you to create shortcuts to match the way you work.

3) Certainly we could add that as an option. Our initial direction was to make it as close to a standard GUI app as possible, but lately we've been adding options to get a more traditional console "feel". I'll put it on our list of possible enhancements.

4) Yes - you can change the binding of most PromptPal shortcuts, including CTRL+C. This is covered in the help, but briefly:

a) Select File->Set Comand Shortcuts...
b) Remove CTRL+C from Edit->Copy
c) Add CTRL+C to Commands->Abort Command

Cheers

Following on from this, is there a switch which will name the tab that's created, something like:

Code:
promptpal.exe cd /D "c:\work\projectA" /T "Project A"

I've checked the "Enable single window mode" option so that the console launches as a new tab rather than a new instance of the app.

Thanks

I'm afraid that's not possible currently - new tabs created on the fly get a default name which you can then change manually within PromptPal. I will look into some solution for getting a more meaningful for such tabs though!
