How to Use PTFB Pro's Macro's to Automate SignCode

Since XP SP2 introduced an automatic check for digital signatures on downloaded software, the majority of developers have had to get to grips with Microsoft's code signing utility, SignCode.exe. (If not then people using IE6 to download their software will get a rather worrying security warning: "The publisher could not be verified. Are you sure you want to run this software" and "This file does not have a valid digital signature that verifies its publisher. You should only run software from publishers you trust")

SignCode has a pleasant enough user interface, but most people use it as a command line tool. This lets them create a batch (.bat) file to do the signing, and maybe include the batch as a post-build step in their development environment. The only problem is that SignCode doesn't let you supply the certificate password as part of the command line, so it always hassles you with a little password dialog:

This is an ideal use for PTFB Pro's Sequence (aka Macro) facility. Just start a new sequence, target the above dialog, type in your password and hit OK. PTFB will now handle that dialog for you, and you've finally got a fully automated code signing process. In fact, if you set the trigger delay to 0 secs and tweak up PTFB's response speed, you'll barely even see the dialog when it pops up!
