ColorCache Version 4 - Preview
June 20th, 2007 by Paul RobertsColorCache version 4 is close to release now, so I thought I’d take a closer look at its new Preview facility.
The Preview lets you take an existing web page page then instantly recolor it using the various color schemes you create in ColorCache:

To produce the above screenshot, a web page and its associated graphics were downloaded using the browser’s “Save as web page - complete” facility. All the popular browsers - Internet Explorer, FireFox and Opera - can do this.
The downloaded page was then imported into ColorCache’s preview and given three different color schemes, just by sliding the hue across to from the original red, to blue, and then to green. The whole thing took less than 2 minutes! Obviously, some pages may need a little massaging after import, but in many cases the Preview itself can do a lot of the work, and the Help will guide you through the rest.
Once you’ve got the look you want you can save the finished web page to disk - and you’ll still have your colors sitting safely in ColorCache, ready to be reused on other pages, promotional materials and so on.
All being well, the new release will be out by the end of June, and anybody who bought a license on or after 1st March 2007 will get a free upgrade. Other licensed users of ColorCache will be able to upgrade with
a nice discount - more details will be available on the ColorCache web site at the time of the release.
